This 12-inch-long, stainless-steel, kink-free spring is designed to prevent kinks in 5/8-inch ID garden hoses when attaching it to a Rapid-Reel or ELEY garden hose reel sold from May 2009 to May 2017. ELEY 2914 swivel

Spring Installation Demonstration

This short video demonstrates how to properly install the kink-free spring into the hose prior to attaching it to the hose reel. Properly installed and attached to the reel, it will keep the hose from kinking.

Can this spring be used on any brand of hose?

Yes. It can be used on any brand of 5/8-inch ID garden hose. It MUST be a 5/8-inch ID hose. The spring won't fit into a 1/2-inch ID hose and is too small for a 3/4-inch ID hose.

What is the length of the spring?

12-inches.

Does this spring create any flow restriction?

Yes, a little. However, most users won't notice any difference. The difference is not noticeable unless you need very precise flow requirements.
