Perfect Hose Termination but …
"… the tool itself has evidence of manufacturing chemicals still on it. Whilst this does not affect functionality (I achieved perfect hose terminations) it’s just a bit shoddy workmanship. Phil"
This tool is designed to be used exclusively with ELEY full-flow brass fittings. You must use this tool to properly attach ELEY fittings to a 5/8-inch garden hose.
Use this innovative tool from ELEY to professionally press a durable brass fitting onto a 5/8-inch garden hose. Manufactured using high-quality materials for reliable use with drinking water. This is the only aftermarket kit designed to deliver factory-quality pressing and hose-fitting repair.
Create a custom-length hose by cutting a standard ELEY garden hose to the desired length and pressing on the ELEY fitting of your choice.
ELEY polyurethane garden hoses are available in standard lengths of 6-1/2, 12, 25, 50, 75, 100, 125, 150, 175, and 200 feet.
For example, to make a 17-foot hose:
What do you do with the leftover hose? We recommend buying another fitting and pressing it on that hose's cut end to create another one. In this example, it would be an 8-foot hose. Or you could cut it again and make two shorter hoses.
Need a hose with two male or two female fittings?
Using the ELEY Repair Tool and the appropriate fitting, you can modify a standard hose or create a custom configuration to fit your setup.
Note: ELEY hoses are not intended for indoor washing machine use.
Watch this video to see how the repair tool works with the ELEY fittings using the included 5mm x 8mm hex key wrench.
Our polyurethane garden hose, which includes our proprietary pressed-on fittings, is rated at 150 PSI. However, the pressure rating of a non-ELEY hose repaired with our repair tool and fittings will depend on the condition, quality, and size of the hose tube and cover.
We provide a 5mm x 8mm hex key wrench for use with the repair tool. You can speed the process up by using a power drill with a 5 mm hex bit for tightening the four screws that attach the two halves of the tool together. We recommend you use the included 8mm hex key tool for hand tightening down the press screw so you can feel the resistance as the fitting gets pressed into the hose. You'll need to use a cutting tool of your choice (common utility box cutter knife works great), for cutting the garden hose.
No. We only sell our polyurethane hose in finished, standard-length assemblies, which include one male and one female fitting.
No. Instead, we now offer this repair tool, our full-flow & lead-free brass fittings, and our standard-length polyurethane garden hose from which you'll be able to make your own custom-length hose. Because of the labor-intensive processes involved in making custom-length hoses, we charged considerably more per foot than our standard-length hoses. With this process, you'll end up with two custom-length hoses (should you also choose to press a fitting onto the other cut length) and a garden hose fitting repair tool that can be used to install factory-quality pressed fittings onto almost any brand of garden hose for years to come. No more cheap after-market fitting repairs from the big box or hardware stores.
We have tested our repair tool and fittings on many hose brands, but not all of them. The outside diameter (OD) range of 5/8-inch hose for effective use with the ELEY garden hose repair fittings is 0.85 to 0.90 inches. We would not recommend it for any collapsible (or self-retracting) hose, hoses with a metal cover, or hoses that have a multi-sided cover. The tool and fittings are designed for a 5/8-inch ID garden hose ONLY.
A successful repair isn’t so much dependent on the outside diameter (OD) of the hose as it is the wall thickness. Minimum thickness would be 0.10 inch and maximum would be 0.15 inch. Circular hose shapes only, no polygons. If it is more convenient for you to use the outside diameter (OD) of 5/8-inch hose for effective use with the ELEY garden hose repair fittings, you'll want to look for an OD measurement from 0.85 to 0.90 inches. If you don't have a digital caliper and only have access to a tape measure or a ruler, you'll want to look for an outside diameter between 13/16 and 15/16 of an inch, with 7/8-inch being the sweet spot for an ideal fitting repair.
Yes. ELEY garden hose fittings are manufactured using high-quality materials commonly used in applications involving drinking water contact, including lead-free brass components that comply with federal lead-free standards.

"Very simple and easy to use. Instructions were plain and simple. I took a few older hoses of considerable length and cut them down to smaller sizes for various other areas of my yard and garden. Using this tool made it very easy to put on new hose fittings. I also bought your male and female hose fittings which are also very well-made."
"This garden hose fitting repair tool was able to tame the leaks that ordinary hose repair kits from the big box store could not. I attached this precision made tool to a piece of angle iron and clamped it in my vise. My off-brand 5/8" garden hose fit perfectly in the tool and I was able to easily glide the inner and outer repair pieces into position and form a perfect water-tight seal. The fit and finish on this quality tool are outstanding!"
"I’ve tried just about every other available fix for a garden hose. These ELEY ends really work. They’re well made, solid, no leaks and save me $50+ every garden hose I fix instead of tossing. I’ll buy again for sure."
"The tool is needed to replace the hose fitting on the end that had worn out. It is a press fit and so this type of tool is needed to insert the new hose end after cutting off the old. Eley provided this tool to me so that I could replace the warrantied fitting! Fantastic Customer Service as always and the tool is excellent quality and worked beautifully. I own 2 Eley hose reels and thank Eley for the outstanding support."
"Every product I have purchased from Eley has been very durable and performs great, these are quality products. After 30 years of using big box store garden hose repair fittings, I thought I'd give the Eley kit a try. It was easy to use, the fittings work perfectly and do not leak. This tool and Eley fittings kept me from having to buy a new hose or use the inferior repair fittings."
"This is a high-quality and durable tool that I have needed for a long time. It is the best solution for repairing damaged hoses and making custom-length hoses. I made some for my hothouse and to run from my outdoor faucets (hose bibs) to my hose reels that are set up at the end of my walkway. It is the perfect way to eliminate unnecessary coils of hose that can be a trip hazard and an eyesore. The fittings that are used with this tool are also high quality and lead free. Perfect."
"The fittings and compression tool are very high quality. Unfortunately, this didn't work on my particular hose. No fault of the product."
"I was a bit reluctant to get this tool due to its cost and having repaired hoses in the past. This tool is so well made and makes repairing hoses so easy!"
"Replaced a hose end piece with a hose clamp that has slowly leaked for years even with two clamps on it. It was difficult getting the store bought hose into the ferrule fitting but, once I got it thru, the repair tool worked well. Hose has been under constant pressure for two weeks and it is water tight. Kinda expensive fittings but, no more scrapes or cuts from hose clamps."
