Can the water flow in either direction? 

Yes. The internal valve is a ball that simply turns the flow of the water on or off, regardless of which direction it comes from.  You can also set the ON/OFF lever at any position to adjust the flow of water from fully on to fully off, or anywhere in between. 
What is the inside diameter (ID) of the valve?

When fully open, the interior ball valve creates an opening that is 14mm in diameter (0.55 inches), or just over 1/2" ID.
Can the ELEY swivel valve be used under constant or continual water pressure?

No. The ELEY swivel valves are built for outdoor, intermittent use, not for constant pressure or indoor plumbing. They are rated to 165 °F (74 °C) and 120 PSI (8.3 bar). Continuous pressure can wear out seals and cause leaks—so always shut off the faucet and relieve pressure when not in use.
Does the ELEY shut-off valve with swivel fitting contain Teflon® (PTFE)?

Yes. The ELEY shut-off valve with swivel fitting uses a small PTFE (Teflon®) seal inside the valve assembly to support smooth operation and leak-resistant performance. The seal has limited contact with water as it passes through the valve.

"High quality, well-built part, as I’ve found with all Eley products. The only thing I would change is the shutoff direction. It would be better if you pushed the lever forward to shut off the water flow. With the current setup, you pull the lever back to shut it off. When rolling up the hose, the lever can catch on the grass and accidentally turn the water back on. If the lever were pushed forward for OFF, dragging or rolling the hose would be much less likely to open the valve accidentally."

Opening the packaging upon receiving

"Opening the packaging upon receiving the product was exciting. Seeing the thought behind it makes one realize there is something to this in terms of quality. As for use, I was hoping to bring it along for hooking up the fresh water hose on the travel trailer. However, in my mind it is too heavy; the hose has to hang both from the water supply and the trailer, so added weight is a concern. Instead, I'm trialing the Garden Hose Shut Off Valve w/ Swivel Fitting and Quick Connect Set for the house garden hose as weight is not the same problem. I'm enjoying the quality first seen upon opening the package. As for long term, I'll report on that later."

Worth every penny

"I was looking for a watering wand for the garden. All the ones I looked at all the big box stores were made out of plastic and seemed very cheap. I read in some gardening forums that Eley was the best. I ordered the brass shut off valve and a brass watering nozzle. I paired those with an aluminum wand that had the right fittings. Now I have a watering wand that will last forever. The brass parts have a 10 year warranty but they feel so well made that I doubt I'll need it. Fantastic products."

This item is well made.

"This item is well made. It works well and it is very durable. For me, it is also the perfect solution. I have a 150’ Eley hose, on an Eley hose reel. I run the hose to a garden, where I need to connect to a few soaker hoses and an Eley nozzle. I got lot of exercise walking back and forth from the garden to the faucet. Then I found this item! Now I turn on the water once, drag the hose to the garden, connect to the soakers and turn on the water. When I am done with the soakers, I turn them off, disconnect them, connect to the nozzle and finish watering. Nice being able to turn the water on and off at the business end of the hose. Thank you, Eley!"
