User-Friendly and Versatile

With standard 3/4-inch garden hose threads (GHT), it connects to any garden hose, faucet, or watering tool.

  • Between two hoses for quick, at-a-glance flow control
  • At the end of a hose for easy shut-off near the task
  • At the faucet to control water flow without walking back

Combine with ELEY Quick Connectors

Pair this valve with ELEY quick-connects to make attaching and removing hoses and watering tools fast and effortless.

Quick-connects help eliminate the time-consuming task of threading and unthreading connections—making your watering setup more efficient and enjoyable.

Frequently Asked Questions - Brass Garden Hose Shut Off Valve with Swivel Fitting

These FAQs are specific to the Brass Garden Shut Off Hose Valve with Swivel Fitting. For general FAQs (specifications, ratings, etc.) about all ELEY watering tools, visit our Watering Tools FAQs.
Is the brass shut-off valve with swivel fitting made with drinking water safe materials?

Yes. The ELEY brass garden hose shut-off valve with swivel fitting is manufactured using high-quality materials commonly used in applications involving drinking water contact, including lead-free brass components that comply with federal lead-free standards and durable EPDM rubber O-rings.

For more information, see Drinking Water Safe & Garden Hoses: What You Need to Know.
Can the water flow in either direction?

Yes. The internal valve is a ball that simply turns the flow of the water on or off, regardless of which direction it comes from.  You can also set the ON/OFF lever at any position to adjust the flow of water from fully on to fully off, or anywhere in between.
What is the inside diameter (ID) of the valve?

When fully open, the interior ball valve creates an opening that is 14mm in diameter (0.55 inches), or just over 1/2" ID.
Can the ELEY swivel valve be used under constant or continual water pressure?

No. The ELEY swivel valves are built for outdoor, intermittent use, not for constant pressure or indoor plumbing. They are rated to 165 °F (74 °C) and 120 PSI (8.3 bar). Continuous pressure can wear out seals and cause leaks—so always shut off the faucet and relieve pressure when not in use.
Does the ELEY shut-off valve with swivel fitting contain Teflon® (PTFE)?

Yes. The ELEY shut-off valve with swivel fitting uses a small PTFE (Teflon®) seal inside the valve assembly to support smooth operation and leak-resistant performance. The seal has limited contact with water as it passes through the valve.

The ELEY shut-off valves are manufactured using high-quality materials selected for durability, performance, and drinking water contact.
Is the ON/OFF lever replaceable if I manage to break it?

Yes. It can be purchased from this website from the following link.  Ball Valve Lever (Item 2961)

Reviews

As a repeat customer, I

"As a repeat customer, I find Eley's workmanship to be top tier. I purchased this valve in order in order to isolate a DI water system that I use for washing vehicles. Unlike the items you'll find at the big box stores, this doesn't restrict the flow significantly. The fit and finish on the valve are great. Smooth function. While I purchased this for On/Off service, the valve will hold position at any point and not be affected by the water flow. Highly recommend for any application where you need precise control of your water flow (would be excellent on the inlet of a sprinkler where you may need to adjust the flow based on where you place it). I use it in conjunction with an Eley quick connect for versatility. No going back to the spigot when I want to disconnect the hose."

Another Eley win!

"The sprayers and shut off valves are high quality as is everything I’ve purchased from them. Would highly recommend. Go ahead and spend the extra money now and have zero regrets that you get what you pay for."

— Leslie R. (5/5)

High quality, well-built part, as

"High quality, well-built part, as I’ve found with all Eley products. The only thing I would change is the shutoff direction. It would be better if you pushed the lever forward to shut off the water flow. With the current setup, you pull the lever back to shut it off. When rolling up the hose, the lever can catch on the grass and accidentally turn the water back on. If the lever were pushed forward for OFF, dragging or rolling the hose would be much less likely to open the valve accidentally."

— Steve M. (5/5)

Hands down, THE best watering

"Hands down, THE best watering tools ever! When I unboxed my order, I immediately thought of tough like a tank. The quality, and fit and finish lets you know without even using the product, the durability is second to none. My expectation that ELEY products are a lifetime purchase was satisfied before even using the products due to the amazing build quality of their hardware."

— James S. (5/5)

Well worth the money.

"This device sure makes it easy to change out different device on the end of the hose. Instead of always having to go back to the faucet and turn it off. The swivel helps keep the hose from getting all tangled up when I reel it back in. Another great product from Eley."

— William C. (5/5)

ALL Eley hose and fittings

"ALL Eley hose and fittings are first class. The design, materials, and construction are all rock solid. They feel GOOD in my hands and the ten year no leak warrantee should see me out. I'm not a grounds keeper, let alone a wealthy person's grounds keeper, but using Eley hoses and fittings make me feel like one!"

— James R. (5/5)

The Money Spent is Well Worth It

"I never thought I'd spend so much on this sort of stuff, but as soon as I started using these, they were fantastic. Heavy, the spray pattern is divine and does well for the plants. I recommend this to anyone looking to stop using those cheap plastic "seven in one" sprayers."

— Elia A. (5/5)

Opening the packaging upon receiving

"Opening the packaging upon receiving the product was exciting. Seeing the thought behind it makes one realize there is something to this in terms of quality. As for use, I was hoping to bring it along for hooking up the fresh water hose on the travel trailer. However, in my mind it is too heavy; the hose has to hang both from the water supply and the trailer, so added weight is a concern. Instead, I'm trialing the Garden Hose Shut Off Valve w/ Swivel Fitting and Quick Connect Set for the house garden hose as weight is not the same problem. I'm enjoying the quality first seen upon opening the package. As for long term, I'll report on that later."

— Peter B. (4/5)

Worth every penny

"I was looking for a watering wand for the garden. All the ones I looked at all the big box stores were made out of plastic and seemed very cheap. I read in some gardening forums that Eley was the best. I ordered the brass shut off valve and a brass watering nozzle. I paired those with an aluminum wand that had the right fittings. Now I have a watering wand that will last forever. The brass parts have a 10 year warranty but they feel so well made that I doubt I'll need it. Fantastic products."

— Benjamin N. (5/5)

Garden hose swivel shutoff

"This ball valve is outstanding! The swivel keeps the shutoff bail in a perfect position whether you are a righty or lefty. For me I can control the flow with my thumb. I paired it with the ELEY brass spray head and 4 gpm screen Don’t know why I didn’t get these long ago Awesome design!!"
